GRETA ANNA (HAMILTON) HANCOCK

          Mrs. William H. Hancock, who died at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Myrtle Battice, in Chicago, on Thursday, Dec., 19, was born and lived
most of her life in Lee county, and her funeral was largely attended.
          The services were held in the Methodist church at Donnellson,
with the pastor, Rev. W. E. Buell officiating.  Burial was in the
Donnellson cemetery.
          Mrs. Hancock was Miss Greta Anna Hamilton, and she was the
daughter of the late William and Martha Hamilton.  She was born at
Charleston, October 6, 1848.  She lived there during all her youth and
until her marriage in 1872.  Since then she lived in Donnellson.
          She is survived by her husband and five children, Clyde G.
Hancock of Keokuk, is her son.  The daughters are Mrs. Effie Wagner of
Montrose, Mrs. Battice of Chicago and Mrs. Maud Casper of Donnellson.  One
child, Edwin Ross Hancock, died at the age of four years.  Her brother,
Charles Hamilton, lives at Guthrie, Okla., and a sister is Mrs. A. J.
Applegate of Old Monroe, Mo.
          Mrs. Hancock had been a member of the Methodist church in
Donnellson for fifteen years, and for over forty years had been identified
with affairs in that town.  She was hard working and kindly devoted to her
family.
