GLADYS R. (REED) MC ALLISTER

          Gladys R. Mc Allister, 69, of 728 Mc Kinley died at 1:32 a.m.
Nov. 9, 1995, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
          She was born November 1, 1926, in Ottumwa to Burley and Alice
Carson Reed.  She married James Mc Allister on Jan. 11, 1948, in Ottumwa.
          A resident of Ottumwa all her life, she had been an employee of
Northwestern Bell Telephone.  She was a member of the Ottumwa Baptist
Temple.
          She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert "Bob" and
Richard of Ottumwa; a daughter, Janet Muchow of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five
grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank and Charles "Chuck" Reed of Ottumwa.
          She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James
Reed.
          The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reece Funeral
Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. A. D. Pringle officiating.  Burial will be in
Shaul Cemetery.
          Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. today with the family present
from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
          Pallbearers will be Gene Reed, Steve Long, Jack, Wayne and Ryan
Mc Allister and Jon Muchow.
          Memorials may be made to the Ottumwa Baptist Temple or the
American Cancer Society in care of Florene De Buhr, No. 3 Carter Court
Lane, Ottumwa.
