Floyd Rolland Hancock, 56, 217 Twenty-first street, died
unexpectedly at his home in Fort Madison early Monday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Barr Memorial
Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Cruper, Dallas City, Ill., officiating. Burial
will be in Hillcrest cemetery.
Mr. Hancock was born Jan. 4, 1908, in Montrose, son of Mont and
Irene Van Ausdall Hancock. On Dec. 29, 1929, in Fort Madison, he was
married to LaVerne Elizabeth Orr. He was foreman of Plastic Fab department
of W. A. Sheaffer Pen company, and a member of the Church of God.
Besides his widow he is survived by a son, Rolland Eugene Hancock
of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Russell and Ralph Hancock, both of
Montrose; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Cummings, Monrovia, Calif.; Mrs. Oscar
Owens, Fort Madison; Mrs. Charles Schwiete, Keokuk; Mrs. Jessie Kilmer,
Winterset; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one
sister.
The family will meet friends at the Barr Memorial Chapel Tuesday
evening between 7 and 9 p.m.
