EVA HANCOCK

Eva Hancock was born in Athens, Mo., January 11, 1869 and
departed this life at her home in Genoa, Colorado, July 21, 1937, at the
age of 68 years, 6 months, and 10 days.
She was united in marriage to Harry M. Saltzgaver, who was a
widower with four small children, his first wife having died two years
before. She reared this family and was a mother to them, so they loved and
honored her as only a real parent could be loved and honored.
In 1919 Mr. Saltzgaver found himself in impaired health and was
compelled to go to a higher altitude. Colorado was recommended, so with
his family he moved to Colorado Springs, coming from there to Genoa in June
1921, which was the permanent family home since.
Three of the stepchildren preceded her in death after they had
grown to maturity.
Left to mourn her departure are her husband, H. M. Saltzgaver of
Genoa, one stepson, Harry M. Saltzgaver, Jr. of Dotsero, Colo., three
grandchildren, Mildred Poston, who is at home, Bobbie Saltzgaver and Harry
M. Saltzgaver the third, one sister, Mrs. Grace Benedict of Farmington,
Iowa, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning at ten
o'clock July 24, and were conducted by Rev. S. E. Parrott of the
Evangelical Church. Mrs. H. C. Holst and Mrs. O. H. Self sand two
comforting songs. A large array of beautiful flowers colored the casket.
          The pall bearers were D. R. Howe, H. C. Holst, O. H. Self, John
F. Gersch, J. C. Overholser and W. M. Hoffman. Interment was made in the
Genoa cemetery and the Diets Funeral Home of Limon officiated.
The bereaved family has our profoundest sympathy.
