Mrs. Alice A. Hancock, a resident of Kingman for many years, died
at the state hospital at Larned Sunday afternoon. The cause of her death
was pneumonia, following an attack of flu. She had been at Larned since
1929.
Mr. and Mrs. Hancock came to Kingman in 1896, and until about two
years ago had made this their home since that time. They lived in the
Fourth ward most of that time and the last few years of their residence
here conducted a grocery store and filling station on the south side. Mr.
Hancock is making his home with his son Claude at Byron; Okla.
Mrs. Hancock was born in Iowa January 5, 1854; died January 15,
1933. She was married to I. A. Hancock March 19, 1874. Mr. Hancock and
three children survive, they being Flora A. Bloom, Alva, Okla.; Charles of
Des Moines, Iowa; and Claude, Byron, Okla. One son died in infancy.
Howard Dennison of Kingman is a nephew.
Mrs. Hancock was a member of the Kingman Christian church.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday
afternoon, conducted by Rev. Robert Means. Burial was in Walnut Hill
cemetery.
